Be Free!

Today’s Daily PromptYou’re tasked with creating a brand new astrological sign for the people born around your birthday — based solely on yourself. What would your new sign be, and how would you describe those who share it?

My belief about Zodiac signs is defined by the image below:

I suppose that I have defined and described myself by refusing to create a new zodiac sign.

Life is what you make it. Don’t let an unproven system define you and what your life will be. You alone are responsible for that! Never let anyone take that away from you!

It’s just impossible!

Today’s Prompt

“Perhaps too much of everything is as bad as too little.” – Edna Ferber

Do you agree with this statement on excess? (Thanks for sharing the quote,LuckyestGirl!)

It must be so difficult to have too much of everything. Imagine having as much bad luck as good. After winning millions of (insert currency of preferrence), you get robbed. What about having the most attractive significant other who cheats in front of you? It’s just impossible.

I can’t begin to imagine having all the wealth in the world and all the luxuries it may bring while over half of the world is struggling. On the flipside, I can’t imagine not eating anything or living in the streets.

Bang in the middle. That’s where I’d like to be.

It’s a Matter of Autonomy

Today’s Daily PromptIn honor of Labor Day in North America, tell us what’s the one job you could never imagine yourself doing.:

I could easily say that:

Every job is as important as another. How will we cope without people who are doing ‘menial’ jobs? Everyone of us is valuable to our community if we do our jobs right. I guess the last bit of that last sentence is important. If we do our jobs correctly- with dignity and empathically- our society will function better than it is now. We should not be ashamed of our jobs if we are doing it right.

However, any person who cannot exercise his autonomy, i.e. freely choosing his/her job is highly likely to feel disinterested or upset. It is easy to say that most – if not all – jobs are useful and that there is no such thing as a bad job. However, if you are forced into a job (any job), you may end up hating it, especially if you cannot get out of it.

Daily Prompt: Break The Silence

When was the last time you really wanted (or needed) to say something, but kept quiet? Write a post about what you should have said.

Daily Prompt

As I have written before, I say what I want to say- with no apologies! However, I can remember as far back as I was probably 15 or 16, when all I was having a few issues with my studies and friends. These times were the ‘rebellious stage’ of my life. I was so angry. All I wanted to say was summed up in this little button/pin that I bought from The Freud Museum in London:

My parents and I find it funny now (yes, I have told them). However, I would never have become the person that I am now if not for the challenges I have encountered in the past.
